It may be a little early to answer this but will Windows 8 be like an update to Win 7 or will it be a complete departure as Vista was to XP?

Win 7 is my favourite Windows by a long way so if it's just an update/upgrade from this I wouldn't complain.

Having said that, Windows 8 could be even better so who knows... :nerd:

The architecture is the same, Vista>Win7>Win8.
It changed from XP>Vista.

It has several added functions and it seems faster so far, if your running Win7 you won't have any problems running Win8.

How about the GUI/Interface, is it similar to Win7?

Yes, there is a desktop UI and a tablet UI.

It will be very similar to the Win7 UI.
