WMC IR Hardware Config during set up

Can't Skip this Step WMC IR Hardware Config

So after I don't know how many times trying to set up WMC8, first with an OTA digi antenna and no go, I finally have it seeing the satellite box and I can't get past the IR Hardware Configuration screen. Doesn't find it... and I don't care. My remote works! So does the keyboard! I SEE THE PICTURE! Let me hit NEXT mo-fo! What happened to skip this step?
Can't go back, it won't save the settings.

Who's got a solution?

I ran into that snag also in Windows 7. My remote isn't a repeater/blaster so I get a no IR blaster detected. No compatible IR remote found. Media Center wants to change the channels on the cable box itself by broadcasting the IR codes though an IR transmitter. I got around it by telling it my input was an antenna not a cable box. Then I went into the guide section and edited the channel's. I added channel 3 and deleted all the rest. My cable box outputs an analog signal on channel 3.
