hey guys just want to ask that can i run windows 8 smoothly on this system:
intel pentium 4 2.6 ghz (ht enabled)
1.5 gb ram
80 gb hard drive
ati radeon 9600

It depends on your P4. It has to support NX, which some P4's do not.

Use the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant to get info on what you want to know. I think you probably would have no problem running 8 although some non-critical features may be missing. And, you might have a driver (or so) issue to resolve. You can upgrade for U.S. $39.99 until year-end if this option is open to you. Thereafter, it is $199.
