You know I love Windows 8 I really do but this has really got my head rolling you know how all the forums say it is so easy to Install and change Display Languages on all versions of Windows, well I think I am the only unlucky ******* that has a version of windows that will not allow you to change the language, I live in Mexico by the way but i am from NY I like to have all my electronics in English, well I have Windows 8 Single Language on my new HP Pavilion G4 and it is stuck in spanish the normal ways to change the language do not work for bunk, now my question is out there how do I manually go into the the system to change the language delete spanish and install english manually not the user interface rubbish I see all over the net and where can I find the open language pack or a exe to install the english language any one now or am I screwed.... thanks everyone in advance...:mad::mad:

Hello deuelk, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Take a deep breath and relax.

Go through all of the steps exactly in the tutorial below to see if it may be able to help.

http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/5853-display-language-change-windows-8-a.html

Yeah I did that already about three different ways what my computer is doing is it only getting to the point where it has the language listed does not install it and in turn tells me that this version of windows does not allow me to set any other language as the primary apart from Spanish I have spoken to Microsoft twice they tell me the same thing contact HP I contacted HP they said they can send me a recovery kit but that will take abut 4-6 business days and I leave on Monday for business for a month and half and Windows has blocked me left and right with everything I have tried to do to change the language and now I am desperate I have even tried to use the disc I have for Windows 8 pro but this is windows 8 and the Serial key doesn't work and it doesn't feel right to download a copy of windows 8 for the laptop I will not lie Windows 8 is the only Microsoft OS I have actually purchased due to my love for the passion put into it but I'm dying here

I thought about that but when I asked MS about that option they said that one of the computers would get black listed I attempted to see if I could install pro and the installer told me (using my home PC serial key) you are already using windows 8 purchase a serial key for more features brings me over for another 90 bucks I can get the pro features, it isn't that 90 bucks is a lot but I have already spent about 900 on this computer and would like try not to spend more money. and i assume that to add features would use a different type of serial key than a install disk uses.

I'm not 100% certain, but I believe Add Features works just like the old Windows 7 anytime upgrade feature. With that you could use the same installation key as you used when installing Windows 7 to upgrade Windows 7 home to pro (I did it with my laptops twice). My assumption is that Add Features works the same way, and it should allow you to use an installation key to upgrade in-place.
