1. If you're running IE from the Start Screen, try running it from the desktop and see if it is more to your liking. If it is, there is a way to make that the default in Internet Options.
Assuming the OP is wanting to use a more traditional IE, they would also need to go into internet options and select the desktop version of IE instead of the Metro version. Otherwise, if you run IE from the desktop, it will still run the Metro version.
