Hey guys,
after upgrading from XP to Win8, I've probably already spent hours removing most of the little bits and unnecessary pieces of UI changes they implemented. I'm pretty much done, but there's one thing left.
See, the problem is with the view and thumbnail functionality. XP would only display preview thumbnails of pictures if you rightclicked in a folder and selected View->Thumbnails. In Win8, I like to use View->Big symbols because I find the Medium symbols to be kinda small, but then of course Windows automatically starts creating thumbnails of pictures and previews of folder contents. Now I know I can prevent that if I just switch to a smaller icon size or disable it in Folder->View->Options->View Tab->check "Always show icons instead of thumbnails". But this change seems to be global, it prevents any thumbnail functionality anywhere on the computer. Seems kind of dumb if the only choice is between "if you want thumbnails just in certain places, you better get used to smaller icons everywhere" or "if you want big icons, you better get used to have no thumbnails anywhere", especially since that choice wasn't present in XP since the Big icons and Thumbnail view were actually the same in size
My question basically is: is there any kind of way for me to have Big Icons view while activating the thumbnails only in certain folders?
