How to force the All Apps screen to refresh

I am currently running a 64 bit version of Windows 8 Pro with all available MS updates applied to it.

I have the need to change the name of one of the program groups that appear on the All Apps screen.

Let's say the group name is "Test".
And I want to change the name to "Answer".

I navigate to the Desktop interface.

    I go to:
    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

I rename the folder "Test" to "Answer"

I navigate back to the Metro interface.

I open the All Apps screen, but I still "see" the group named "Test".

Even if I log out and log back on.
Or. if I log on as a different user.

Is there a way for me to force Windows 8 to update the All Apps screen ?

    By the way ........

The above folder has a shortcut in it that points to Notepad.exe.

If I follow the same procedure (above) to rename the shortcut inside of the folder, the new shortcut name appears immediately when I return to the All Apps screen.

It's only the group name, that is not refreshing on the All Apps screen. (For some reason.)

Are you sure the group isn't in "All Users"?

    Thanks for reading the postings.

    As it turn out ....
    Whatever I create here: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

Shows up here as well: C:\Users\All Users\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

And if I delete it out of the ALL Users folder, it is also gone from the ProgramData location.

Now this is kind of interesting.
If I continue to rename the shortcut and the group.
(And switch back to the ALL Apps screen to "look" for the changes, sometime the group and shortcut names, do indeed change.

But I don't know what is driving the actual update to the All Apps screen.

I wonder if the group names on the All Apps screen are cached somewhere.
And this cache is updated by some action. (Which I can’t figure out.)

    In any event.

    Thanks for your interest.
Your thoughts and or suggestions, are most welcome.

That shouldn't be the case. What you put in All Users should show up in every Desktop and/or start menu. Not the other way around.

I should agree with you on that.
In fact I started my testing by creating my folder and shortcut in the All Users structure.
But was advised, via another post, that the ProgramData structure was the way I should really be going.

    Hey, I'm easy.
But, it dosen't seem to make much of a difference, for my particular issue. (Yet ! )

Everything else in 8, seems to follow the same rules used in Windows 7.
    Except for this .... issue.
