Problem #1
Internet Explorer 10 does NOT appear either on the Metro (App) screen or in the task bar of the desktop view. It is also NOT listed as a program that can ba assigned default browser status.

Problem #2
Task Scheduler has NOT verified running a single task since the upgrade (from 7 to 8). If I hit "Run" the task is run, however history stopped on the day prior to install of Windows 8. Also, the "Running" continues to appear long after the actual task has been completed. I'm using a local account with the same Username and Password as I had in Widows 7.

Problem #3 (Resolved)
Running SFC /Scannow following install showed corrupted files were found and fixed. Following installation of Media Center, SFC again showed corrupted files that were fixed. Now it appears all is well.

Any suggestions on fixing problems #1 & #2? Thanks. -SA Jack

Sounds like corruption caused your configuration to halt during upgrade.. essentially your whole system is probably hosed.

Even if you solve those problems, you have no idea what else might be misconfigured, or unconfigured.. or worse. This is the problem with upgrades. If *anything* goes wrong, you should do a clean install.

I'd do a clean install, or at least a system refresh.
