Anyone use Windows 8 as a HTPC? what's your input setup?

I use a Logitech k400 Wireless keyboard with a built in trackpad. It's great in theory, but the implementation has a few flaws:
The keys are small, and the trackpad is worthless, especially with Windows 8.

I've been trying to find an alternative, but the only one I found is using apple inputsw and something called a "Magic wand" which connects the two:

I'm wondering if anyone uses this, and what is their thoughts?

here's what I'm thinking of doing:
Buy a Logitech Wireless Rechargeable Touchpad T650
Buy a Logitech Wireless Illuminated Keyboard K800
Buy a board slightly bigger than the footprint of both of these devices, and a bunch of velcro.

You can guess the rest.

Does anyone think this would work?

Seems like it would work, but a bit pricey, no? $180 list price for the two Logitech items!

Yeah, that's how much it would cost using Apple parts. My K400 was $60, so I know for sure I'd have to pay more.

Well, I guess I use my PC as a HTPC as well as other things running Windows 8.

My input setup right now is a Microsoft Touch Mouse, which is like 30 dollars in the amazon.com. That is VERY ideal for Windows 8, as you have the touch gesturing support.

Also, I have a Logitech K750, it's a wireless solar paneled keyboard, I would recommend it if you like the chiclet style keyboard, which is like the one you have posted. And, it's solar paneled so you never have to recharge batteries for it, and VERY thin!

Maybe. Though I like the idea of having everything attached together. My setup is pretty expense though.

Oh yeah, aesthetics is something to consider.

Personally, I'd try to go out and test the products physically before making the decisions.

Or actually, if the product listing has a 30 day return guarantee, you could take the dollar hit for a bit of time and test out both...
