Hi all

I am looking for a bit of help

I have just installed a nice new fresh clean install of windows 8, so far most things are working fine, but. I cannot get any of the Torrent clients I use to work, in every case the client installs fine but when it comes to running it fails to load, if I look in task manager it is showing but it will not close from within task manager and the only way to end the stalled application is to do a re boot.

Anyone else getting this issue or is there a known fix for it.

Thanks for any help

Paul

uTorrent works for me just fine when I've needed to use it, can't say I've tried anything else though. I can't see Microsoft getting by with blocking any particular app and not getting the pants sued off them, so it's most likely something to do with your system.

+1 for uTorrent. Used it last night to grab some Linux Distros

Thanks guys

Turned out to be my security software F_Secure, as soon as I disabled it all the Torrent software sprang into life as if by magic.

F_Secure is fail IMO. Of course everyone is entitled to use what they know and are used to, but I've never had a problem using MSE (Now integrated with Windows Defender) + MalwareBytes.

I was just moving some files from a to b and MSE was finding a couple of nasties that Kaspersky never found so MSE is pretty good!

I've used MSE (and Malwarebytes) since it came out and have not had any security issues.

Cheers
