My laptop (Lenovo) came with 1TGB disk. I wanted to partition in 2 o 3 pieces, the OS one around 150 GB. I used the utilities in the system, and it only let me to partition the c: to a size of 500 GB. Is it feasible to re-partition again, to 150 GB (se freeing 350), without losing data? With which utility?

PARAGON Software Group - News: Significant booting challenges on EFI systems when upgrading to Windows 8

FREIBURG, Germany, December 11, 2012 - Paragon Software Group (PSG), a leader in data backup, disaster recovery, and data migration solutions reveals the market educational article about possible Windows 8 booting issues and explanations on how the user can solve these problems: "The new Windows 8 and Server 2012 will be the base operating systems for upcoming new computers, laptops and servers. UEFI is the recommended platform for all of them. In spite of all of its advantages, many users are still not familiar with UEFI. There are known issues which may arise when you decide to manage EFI boot options or migrate to an EFI-based computer from another one. In most of these cases, your OS will simply not boot".

Minitool works extremely well for me & it converts to basic primary when one goes amuck .. but will what you have already.. perhaps it will expand into that unallocated space, rather than merge maybe ?

Your Lenovo, once you changes any partition size.. most likely broke the Lenovo One Key Recovery factory original restore button or any other way to access it. Unless you download an engineering dvd and make a new restore.

thanks, unfortunately, looks like merge functionality requires Minitool Pro ,which is not free. Any other idea, preferrably free? Could be done with "native" W8 utilities?
thanks
