online installation or CD from a retailer?

HI,

I am using windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. I wish to upgrade it windows 8. Am a newbie, please forgive me if u find my questions silly ..

1. If i upgrade to windows 8 through online installation, can i use it for a lifetime or is there any specific time period i can use it.? A retailer told me that its validity is only for a specific period, he also added that we can use it forever only if we buy a CD of it. Is it true?

2. If my OS crashes after some time or if there is any problem with my laptop, should i buy it again.?

Hi sriram91, welcome to the forums,
1. You can down load the .iso image and create a copy for yourself, there's no time limit on it, you don't need to buy a disc.
2.You don't need to buy again, you can use the disc you created for repairing, resetting and refreshing.
