MS announced that they will support ARM processors in Win8. I wonder what that implies.

What is the market they are aiming for? I have a hard time seeing Windows8 in cell phones and on refrigerators. It is probably too bulky and complex for those devices.

On the other hand, it may be candidate for tablets with muscular hardware. They are now talking about tablets with multi core processors and bigger RAM. But here they would go head-on with Android which is well taylored and far advanced in function for this market compared to Windows.

And last, what are the implications for the PC. They already announced that the new Mosh UI would have a tile interface. That is very different from what we have now. Sounds interesting but what does it mean?

Your thoughts?

Honestly I think we have to wait and see what kind of UI they present before we can really speculate were they're going with ARM support. As we think of Windows 7 it would be hard to comprehend it on a phone or smaller device, but with the rumors of Mosh being tiled it would make sense that they could then port it to a smaler device.

As far as the PC user is concerned I think there will be very little to adapt to. I think that they will stick with a traditional UI for the PC and apply "Mosh" to other devices.

All in all I think that the first look into the UI(s) that they're developing will give us a much better idea on their vision for Windows 8.

Speciulation isn't so much fun for me, guys, because I see the trends going in a direction I'm not happy with.
