Howdy,
Bought a laptop with Win 8 installed. The @ symbol does not work. It inserts the " symbol instead. I'm not the only person who has this issue. However, on other computers these keys are switched - on my laptop - no. Can't find anything on the keyboard that will give the @ symbol.
I've switched the keyboard layout back and forth. I've changed the language. Neither of these worked. I've deleted the KB driver - which the system said was up to date. None of these worked.
I tried remapping the keyboard with a utility program. The program showed that the @ key was in it's proper place. Yet, didn't work. Tried to use the @ symbol in Google Chrome and in a OpenOffice text document. I get the " symbol.
Okay geeks, what say you?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any and all comments in advance.
Andy
