HELP!! My windows 8 new laptop wont turn on :(

I was having problems with my new computer (HP Envy m6, running windows 8). It was not signing me out properly and would not shut down. I thought that maybe I just needed to update the windows software. But upon updating the software and turning my computer back on it gave me a black screen with one blue box that says "Selected boot image did not authenticate. Press <Enter> to Continue. If I press Enter the computer the computer turns off (turning back on displays the same message). If left on nothing changes and it will continue to run the computer.

    Please help me, thanks :

Did your computer come with an install disc? Does it have a recovery partition? If yes on the first, you might be able to repair Windows start up by starting up with your disc and choosing the repair computer option. I can't remember if you can access an HP recovery partition from here, but, really, I think not. If yes on the second, you may be able to access the recovery partition by starting up by holding down on some f key. Not sure which though on you machine. Implementing the recovery partition would restore your computer to factory fresh--which is way better than you are now.

    Welcome to EightForums.

We always assume you have made your Recovery Disks using the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Media Creator app the first day you had your new PC.
& made the Startup Repair CD.

Did you make the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Disks?

No, my laptop didn't come with any discs or anything, just some simple papers that gave me tips on how to use windows 8.
And when the blue screen comes on, there's nothing that I can do!! If i press any keys it will make a beeping sound and if I press enter it will shut down my laptop. So there's really nothing that I can do, because when i shut down and turn my laptop back on after the fifth time the blue screen is still there.

So you did not use HP Recovery Manager to make your Recovery Disks.

Forgetting about having a disc as mentioned in my earlier comments, did you try holding various f keys down (one per start up attempt) immediately upon trying to start your machine. Don't wait for anything to appear on the screen before holding down.

    Try this from your manual.
