HP's Substitute Start Menu

I have just purchased an HP h81414 with Win 8 installed and in looking around the HP site I find something call HP Quick Start which is supposed to replace some part of the Win 8 startup. Has anyone here used it or know any thing about it?

My inclination is to go straight to Classic Shell but my only reservation is about adding third party stuff to the OS without having explored native (to HP that is) solutions.

Thanks a bunch.
