i have two external HDDs, one seagate and one acer. i back up my computer to the seagate, and back up my seagate to the acer. the acer i back up only every few months because i keep that in a seperate room in case the seagate and the computer get stolen or something ::knockonwood::.
im trying toback up my seagate with the acer but its copying at speeds of around 40-180 kb/s!! that'll take DAYS.
im on windows 8 (problem persisted on my windows 7 machine so its not a win8 issue), i7 2.4ghz, 16 gigs of ram, SSD primary drive.
btw, on windows 8 it wont let me optimize the external HDDs to force me to safely remove every time for some reason
the acer has ben error checked (its fine) and defragged
