Solved Updates

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask this question, so apologies in advance if I'm doing this incorrectly. On Tuesday I bought a Samsung laptop Windows 8. The first two days things were fine, then on Wednesday afternoon as I logged on there was some sort of a message on the bottom right hand corner of the screen, which said something about two days (sorry to be so vague). When I attempted to switch off/close down there was the message that appears when the PC is dealing with updates - 3 of 5 - and not to unplug the PC. It is not Saturday and the operation appears not to have been completed, as there is just a message on screen which says "shutting down". But it has been giving this message for over 36 hours!!!! Can I just unplug it or will everything be lost??

If it's been that long, then you will probably have to force a power down. Hold in the power button for 5 seconds and let it shut off.

Its Microsoft auto updating your system which is probably what your setting is set at . You should change that setting to check with you before allowing anything to be installed . This way you have the power as to what gets install not MS or Samsung doing it automatically
