Personally, I find the mock-up to be very terrible. The large, green-tinted Glass effects look disgusting, and the icons are just weird.

Realistically, W8 is probably going to be a simplified version of the Aero theme; possibly carrying the light blue motif, and switching to a more Matte Plastic look instead of Gloss.

The glass would be color changeable like Vista/7...
Matte Plastic look reminds me of Apple so that wont happen...
Everyone has their opinion abt it...

I personally don't like the see-through Glass and i think it would be better to use blur effect...

As long as it doesn't take more RAM than Windows 7 or Vista takes for Aero.

looks very nice but i don't think this is realistic.

@saiarcot895: at the time win 8 is getting to release i thing 8GB RAM is standard in a PC, so i think there is not a big Problem if it will need a bit mor RAM.

By the time we go to 8 we will have abt 10-12 Gb Ram at least so then that wont be a problem...

I love the concept that the winner came up with! So original but still kept the same windows feel to it.

This is BRILLIANT! If the StartBar looked a bit more professional, I'd be MORE than happy to have this as Windows 8. But we'll be disappointed. Honestly, M$ should pay more attention to these guys.

thats really nice, but i think with 8 they will probably work more on the underbelly of the OS then the visual impact. i would expect that it's going to look very similar to windows 7 visually with only minor changes.

To be honest, looks like some one has been playing with Ubuntu.

I cant see the pictures well enough to really have an opinion.

I think the best bet for Windows 8 should be a built in Customization not just for colour, but also for things like syle. Similar more to Linux Distros.
More customization = better.

as pretty as that is i don't think MS will stray to far from the basic start button/taskbar/system tray design. it works it's easy to use and it's familiar. and a company as large as MS has to play it safe.
