Hey guys, please bear with me. I done messed up! I had a windows 8 partition running successfully. I now cannot boot into windows as the computer (and my linux live cd) wont recognize my main partition and it shows up as 'unallocated space'. Here is how I made this mess:
-I used EaseUS partition manager to create a new partition (small and not too important).
-it made me reboot and it did it's thing to make the new partition without windows running. This process takes a VERY long time. During this time, my power cord fell out and the whole system just shut off without finishing.
-I booted up using my linux live cd (just because i could to check if any damage) and all my files were there.
-I rebooted my live cd to check again using gparted (partition app on linux) and now it won't mount my partition so i cant view my files.
-gparted sees the space (/dev/sda) as 'unallocated space'. It seen this before as well when i WAS able to mount and view my files. Now I cannot.
So here I am, in my linux live cd, trying to recover my files without having to do a FULL wipe and lose everything and re-install windows.
Can ANYONE help me out please? Any way I can view files on unallocated or recover the partition? Thank you SO much. I know it's my bad but any help and I will love you long time.
EDIT: This is what I tried to help already (but failed): tried running windows auto repair on my windows 8 disk, tried fixing bootrec, bcd, and mbr in cmd, and tried a couple other commands, such as chkdsk, etc.. all with error. One error I remeber with CMD on the windows 8 disk was that it could not fix due to the disk being WRITE PROTECTED or something.
I am open to any help, either in Windows live cd or linux. Thanks so much!
