Solved Desktop Background not changing

Hey there, I just installed windows 8 today and the first thing I wanted to do was change my desktop background. So I did the same as I would have on Windows 7, I right-clicked the picture I wanted and picked "Set as Desktop Background." But then I noticed that nothing changed. I tried to pick a new theme and still nothing changed, I was stuck with the flower background that came pre-installed. I was able to change the lock screen picture but not the desktop background. I found a work-around for trustedinstaller and got rid of the flower background, which caused the desktop to changed to a solid black color. [DEL]This will now not change no matter what background I choose, be it pre-installed or downloaded.[/DEL] I can now only select a solid color as my background, not anything downloaded or pre-installed.

This is usually the problem if your copy of windows is not activated. Do you see the Windows build number in the lower right corner? If you go to Computer Properties does it say it is not activated?

How did you fix this i have the same problem, my windows is activated there is nothing in the bottom right corner, i can change the start menu background the lock sceen background. Everything except my desktop background its stuck on that darn flower
