Boot Time Problem
Hi there, posting in hopes of resolving some problems I've had since installing on Friday.
I'm on a Lenovo laptop (Y560 model, almost two years old). My computer takes 5-10 minutes to boot each time. The boot screen with the Win8 logo and all passes very quickly, but it doesn't actually proceed to my lock-screen until 5 minutes later. Since Friday, I've tried reducing the start-up delay, or timeout, and have removed a bunch of intensive startup programs in hopes that it would help. So far, nothing.
[DEL]My other problems are with Lenovo drivers. Some simply do not want to work. My trackpad consistently stops working no matter how many times I update/reinstall the driver and my camera doesn't work now, either. These, and a few other things Lenovo-related, are struggling immensely.
[/DEL] [Okay on this front, now]
Any clues? I'd really like to avoid refreshing and losing all of my programs (or apps, as they're now calling them?).
EDIT: Boot time problem is solved. I got frustrated and decided to try the old power discharge trick (remove peripherals, battery and hold power button) and that worked like a charm. Computer booted in about 10 seconds. Now I'm left with the trackpad problem. It's still getting shut off about 3 seconds after boot for some reason.
EDIT 2: Welp, that worked once. Back to my 10 minute boot time, so that's open season again.
