I updated my PC from Win 7 to Win 8 pro last night everything went as intended.

Except for some strange reason when I go online using a browser the web pages do not open. The browser displays a connectivity error but at the same time I am able to do search through the browser and I see the search results page but when I click on a link it does not open. In addition no software is able to connect to the Internet for update or connectivity.

I have tried all browser like explorer, chrome, opera and Firefox, I have tried install and removal on the browser.

In addition I can see that windows update has a connection as its downloading updates also the setup for browsers can connect to the web and download.

There is no problem with my wire connection, No I do not have a firewall, No I do not have virus protection of any sort I do use Microsoft provided solution in regards to firewall and virus protection.

I connect my PC through cable to a router no problem there already checked everything.

ERGO nothing has changed in and around my computer except new operating system and funnily enough I thought it would be save for once to upgrade windows trouble free but boy was I wrong.

PC is Acer Predator around 5 months old,

So in short no software can go online except partially search and windows update and NO there is no firewall and or other software blocking.

Yes the card was detected and installed I have double checked that. Everything is working except installed software can not access the Internet and browsers do not display webpages.

Mosaic? That's the name of a 17 year old web browser.

Do you mean in Metro (aka Modern)? The full screen mode?

If you want Chrome to work in full-screen mode, you have to download the developer channel version, then you have to go into settings and enable the Metro integration.

Lots of people are having various problems from doing an upgrade install. You will probably end up having to do a full clean install.

More than likely, those programs either installed "shims" to tap into os functions, and these interfered with the new OS, or they installed a proxy server.
