I installed win 8 last night. I see x box app is installed. It's a little confusing for me. Is this mainly a streaming music service or can I buy single tracks? On most songs I previewed or listened to you can only buy the album.

I will be dumping my iPhone once I get my hands on a windows phone 8. So I'm trying to figure this all out and how is the Xbox music on the phone? I'm assuming this is what we use to download music.

Xbox Music is a pretty cool service. Basically, it's your local music player, music streaming service, and cloud streaming service. It plays your local music on your hard drive, just like any other player. It also has a music streaming service akin to Pandora. You can hit Smart DJ, type in an artist, and it'll start streaming music of that artist and related artists. Also, when signed into Xbox Music with your Microsoft account, you can venture off to a different PC, sign into that remote PC's Xbox Music app and your playlists and your Smart DJ playlists will sync over to that PC. The Xbox Music Marketplace is pretty big, and if the songs in your playlists are in the Marketplace, it will just stream those songs over. It's pretty neat! :D

You are also able to purchase and download songs, like Zune did or how itunes does.

Very glad to hear you will be getting a Windows Phone! :dinesh:

That sounds good. What happens if I buy a song on my win 8 phone, will it automatically go to my computer and same goes for if I buy a song on my laptop, would it also go to my desktop and phone?

I would imagine it would sync over, either through the companion syncing app for Windows Phone or it would just appear in Xbox Music as well.

If you don't mind my asking, what Windows Phone do you plan on getting? :)

If I didn't already have a Galaxy SIII, I would definitely go for the Samsung Ativ. That's a nice looking phone, and one of the best I've seen of the Windows Phone 8 group

I'm going with lumia 920. The reviews has this as the best phone yet, even better then the iPhone.

Hopefully today we find out when they go on sale. Today is the big launch day for windows phone 8.
