The netplwiz works. You may have forgotten the "Apply". You also get netplwiz if you just type it on the start screen.

Yes, I did it. I just ran it again and it's unchecked. But I did this yesterday and when i turned it on, it told me to login with my email password.

After you unchecked the little box, did you input your password (twice) ?? You may have to click OK to get the new window where you can do that. And when it's all done >> Apply.

Did that. Could Start8 be interfering with it? Or something?

I don't think so, but uninstall it and see - and post your results. This would be a good thing for folks to know.

I use Classic Shell/Start Menu, which enables me to go straight to the desktop, only seeing the Start Screen for a second. It does not interfere with the skipping the log in.

Originally didn't work for me, along with a bunch of other little bugs after I upgraded to Windows 8. I decided to do a clean reinstall and it works now, along with everything else.
