not that it really matters, i guess. but, did MS say the next OSes will follow the # naming convention?

We have had win 95. Win 98 Win 2000. Maybe Windows 2012 is in the making. 212 for short.
I do not recall them stating it, but until we get a legit name directly from Microsoft, we will just continue to call it 8.
Personally its easier to say in conversation;
Hey dude guess what!? I just found a leaked version of Windows 8!

People didn't really like the whole 'fancy name' thing with Vista, everyone loves how they kept W7 simple.I would assume they will continue this path if it works out well for them.
There have been numerous "subtle" references to Windows 8 in some of the M$ blogs, speeches, and on the internet.
It seems that they (M$) have learned their mistake with name (Millinium, Vista) vs. number (95, 98, 2000) and I feel that to follow the numbering sequences (7, 8, 9) will be the norm from now on.
Just logical, but we all know that logics sometimes just don't apply if the powers to be deem differently...
Yes... I think the name will be Windows 8...
Like our friend said... It's logical and well better than freak names...
I like Windows 8 - logic when all else fails.![]()
Windows 8 sounds good to me. Lots of rhyming words. Win 8 the great, don't be late,has no mate,don't hate, just wait........
Hey Steven. Actually It comes from playing the Rhyming Game with my three young granddaughters. They can get somewhat silly and always make me smile. Chillin![]()
