It is a legit point, although I'd say it was more Win98SE that was good, and Vista SP1-2 isn't that bad imo.

I'm sooo tired of seeing "bad' in conjunction with Vista, there's nothing at all wrong with it and I wish people would just stop already.
Vista in it's original form was bad... It couldn't even install on masses of machines with more than capable hardware. If you have to remove hardware, change monitors, and specially configure a BIOS just for an installer they screwed up big time. Of course much of this was fixed with SP1 from what I have heard.

Windows 7 Professional, Windows Vista Ultimate, Ubuntu 9.04
XP was good (I would hope this is obvious), and as much as I like Vista, it just wasn't quite right for me until SP1 hit. Overall, though, I'd give Vista a thumbs up.

Vista was the reason that I left windows for Linux almost 2 years ago. It may be that I didnt wait for sp1, but the driver support was horrible. I was a happy camper with Ubuntu from 7.04 through 9.10beta until I stumbled upon the SevenForums web site. I havent looked back and dont plan to.. The Moral of the story .... Vista was the reason I left windows .. Windows 7 was the reason I came back!
