WCP is just around the corner.Today I shrunk my drive and created 25 GB space for the same..But why is it marked as logical drive instead of primary partition?

I think you were right, Disk management just offer to create basic or dynamic? I don't remember.
There have to be any answer. But if you need it to be primary, go for Easeus or Partition wizard.
I guess you are familiar with them.

But the partition I have created is for the installation of WCP.I hope it can be installed on that logical drive.

A week to go, you already reserve the space? That is a good anticipation. Sure you will be able to install it on logical drive, but remember some boot files will be stored to any available primary drive.
Me, I have some old HDD (160 GB). Will install it there. Will let WDP for sometimes as I installed much of my works there.

Hi bagavan,
You must have another Primary partition hidden(System Recovery), maximum 4 Primary partitions can be made in that disk, what do you have in D partition? if they are data and if it's possible transfer them to a folder in C partition and install W8 CP in that partition. I don't think you can install W8 in a logical partition. HTH.

Of course you can install to a logical drive because your Win8 BCD will go to the bootmgr in the 100MB active partition. Originally Posted by bagavan

My apologies bagavan for misleading, my experience was different as I tried on another laptop I failed and gave up without trying hard enough.
