    Windows 8 being defaught os

well im wondering if i should install it as a defaught os because i cant install it on a partition since its a "dynamic disk" and idk how to change it or somthing? so is it a bad idea to make it a defaught os or not. if anything how can i change it from being a dynamic disk ?

I am assuming that you mean default. If so, press Windows key and R, and type in msconfig.
There you can select which one you want to be the default...

    Hi stefelz,
Are you thinking of removing Win7 and install Win8 CP as your main OS? if you are, it's not advisable as Win8 CP will be unfinished and unstable OS. If you post a snip of your disk management someone will help you to create a separate partition and install Win8CP so that you can dual boot with Win7.

    Hello,
On your last thread you have been provided with several solutions to your problem, unfortunately you didn't respond to them, so we couldn't further assist you with your problem.

    This thread: Disk is dynamic

Regarding making Windows 8 default OS:

    1. It is still in pre-beta stage. So it is not really recommend to be run it as main OS in productive machine. It is unstable and you will mostly likely run into problems. Even majority of enthusiasts here don't run it as their default and only OS.
    2. Is your disk partitions are still the same as in your last post:

It won't be as straightforward as deleting Windows 7 partition and installing Windows 8 instead.
You will still be required to convert your disk from dynamic into basic. Which again brings us to suggestions in previous thread.

If you want to get rid of the dynamic disks, you must only have 4 partitions - all the others have to go. Then you can use Partition Wizard 4.2 to reconvert those to primaries. Download pw422 from here and burn the .iso to CD.

The you should convert one of the primaries to logical ( also with pw422) so that you can create an extended partition. If you post a full picture of your Disk Management, we might be able to advise you which partition to take.
