If there were both 32 & 64bit versions in the ISO it would take twice as long to download.
They are two completely different OS, and would have to have both complete versions included.

Better for us with slow internet connections to D/L them separately.

wondered if anyone has any idea of what the forthcoming W8 preview download might be (I'm on a 10gb monthly limit). And do you think it will fit on one standard DVD when burned as an ISO ?

I tried the W8 developer preview a couple of months back which was interesting but of course it was far to limited to use for any length of time.
If you are running that tight of a monthly cap, maybe you can find someone local that can mail you a disk

I hope so too Not sure if my CD/DVD drive supports dual layer discs. I would think MS would want to keep it on one disc for retail/OEM versions too.

A friend a few doors away has the same ISP package as myself but they only use I guess 1 GB a monthif that.

Actually I looked up the penalty for going over 10Gb and the first time it is just an email warning, and if it happens again any time after that then the charge is £5 per 5Gb over.

It will install faster if you put it on a USB flash drive.

If you install in e.g. Virtual Box, then you do not need to burn a DVD. And it is so much more comfortable running Win7 and Win8 in parallel.

I installed Ubuntu on a USB stick.
I thought that it would be better than the Live CD version.

    Boy was I wrong!
The Live CD is slow, but the USB is unusable.
