Since Windows 8 is pre beta now there is no way of knowing if it any computer will be 100% compatible.....I hope you mean video ram.....The most system ram you can get at this time is 64 GB/and that is spread out over eight slots.....
Thanks Ivan but I am asking about internal Memory (RAM) not Video graphic card memory(RAM).
8 gig chips are available for desktops, with support for future 16 gig chips so with a desktop with 8 ram slots you can get 64 gigs today and that's the max.......
The max ram for a desktop is 12 gigs with 3 slots and 4 gig chips That's checking iBuypower and Falcon Northwest.... DRX Laptops for Gaming and Business | Falcon Northwest
iBUYPOWER Computer :: Battalion 101 X7200 [2] Gaming Laptop
ivan you are asking about desktops or laptops too?
if laptop can support 64GB RAM then please refer me some laptop's vendor as well as model.
Thanks
No, just stating the fact that a laptop's max ram is 12 gigs as of now....and the fact a desktop's max ram is 64 gigs as of now![]()

I have never seen a woprkstation with more than 64 GB of RAM...
...and you are thinking of a 128 GB laptop ?!?![]()
Maifs, are you maybe confusing hard drive size with memory size? Are you looking for a laptop with a 128 GB solid state drive maybe?
There are plenty of workstations (very high end desktops, essentially a server board in a desktop form factor) that support up to 192GB of DDR3 ECC RAM - but that's obviously not cheap. I have a few Dell T7500 machines with 96GB (24*4GB) and only one with 192GB (24*8GB) of DDR3 ECC RAM.
The all-up machine costs roughly $15k but can get up closer to $20k depending on options.
At this point there are no laptops that can support anywhere near what the OP is talking about - I'd suggest getting a top-notch SSD and using a portion of that for page file and cache, its not quite RAM speeds but can come close depending on the configurations. I don't know if there are laptop/mobile workstation boards that can be configured this way however in the server world some guys have pretty good luck with some out-of-the-box thinking and configurations.
Most laptops have two RAM slots, I believe a few have four slots.
The largest laptop single RAM card is 8GB, two slots 16GB, four slots 32GB.
Whether the BIOS will accept 32GB would have to be checked.
Getting an OEM laptop to run that much RAM may be a challenge.
Best to go with the SSD as a page file and cache as mentioned above.
So, 128Gb RAM laptop is not available at this time.
