Search Bar and App Icon would fix 90% of my problems
Don't get me wrong ... we all have our small nuisances with Windows 8, but overall I really like it's potential. I really only use a few programs on my computer and to have those easily accessible and organized (the key thing here) would be nice. There are some weird quirks that don't make sense that we all know about.
- Having to scroll vertically to move the page horizontally.
- Not being able to close programs.
- Sleep/ Shutdown/ Restart was under settings? (why couldn't they put that option when you click on your icon?)
- Ect...
- But for me, my biggest pet peeve is that to access Apps, I have to search for them? And in doing so, I have to know a shortcut key to get to the search bar? Do not get me wrong, I would consider myself an advanced user, so that is easy for me. My mother would be absolutely lost if the icon for a particular app was not already on the screen.
This seems so simple of a a fix though. On the Start screen on the top right side, left of your icon .... have a icon for apps, and next to that a Search Bar.
- This makes the screen real estate far more efficient, and still not cluttered, while giving us a feature that would vastly improve the app to app process.

go to your start menu, and type. like "pa" and it will show you paintplay and paint. also, if you click search on the hover menu, and then apps, you can see your whole list of applications

I don't think you get it, I know how to get to apps and search, I am saying that there needs to be easier and more efficient way in Windows 8 for you to see these. Why should I have to do to an extra step, when a simple apps icon could take me there from the start menu itself .... I only mention that because it would be something you would use A LOT!
You and I may think it is easy to "go to your start menu, and type. like "pa" and it will show you paintplay and paint," but many people don't. Unless it clearly has the magnify glass or "search" they are lost. Something I feel also people would use a lot!

Agreed, but I still like W8.
I lobe W8 ..... just proposing ways they could improve it from being very good to great! What I like is the quickness to apps, I have just thought of a way to make it quicker to every app, how can that be bad?
