Force full shutdown of Win 8

Win 8 hibernates the kernel session to speed-up boot times.

To fully shutdown Win 8, see following:

    I just click on:

    and, then, "Shut down," afterward.

Either that, or just hitting the power button on the computer.

That's great, Karl, but I've simply done it as shown above.

Not much to really think about.

    Still ... thanks!

I just move the mouse to the left of the Start button, Settings then Power > Shutdown.

    Yep.
Pick up your prize on the way out but don't forget to tip your bartenders and waitresses, OK?

    Good People,
I think some misunderstanding exists here. This is about more than shutting down your computer.

In Savill's article, he gives the following link:
Delivering fast boot times in Windows 8 - Building Windows 8 - Site Home - MSDN Blogs

For serious technical addicts, then I consider this to be mandatory reading.

For those who would like a better understanding of the Win 7 shutdown and boot sequences, then this is an extremely helpful article.

I hope that reading the linked material will clear up the confusion.

    Ummm, not really, Karl.

When one wants to shut down their computer, one shuts it down.

As to circumventing the Hybrid boot in Win8 8102, one accomplishes the same just by shutting it down.
