All i did was in msconfig, in the boot tab, selected "No Gui Boot" & "OS boot Information", apply and next thing i know my Windows colours are all bugered!!!! It's now permanently like this.

Hold Alt+Shift+PrtScn.
I'm not entirely sure if Windows 8 has High Contrast but when it's on in Windows 7/Vista/XP, the primary colours are black and purple so it's worth a shot.
