Older Guy here --hates Mobile phones but is ADDICTED to W8
Hi all
Once I've got used to the metro GUI I really like it.
This is from an OLDER Guy who absolutely HATES doing anything with mobile phones apart from using them to actually make telephone calls, jam incessant noisy business guys on Eurostar trains between London and Brussels/Paris especially on Fri evenings and receive the odd text.
===> I've only ever sent TWO texts in my life and it was such a horrible experience that I will probably never send another one.
IMO MS has got this OK
-- It beats the Android system hands down -- having seen how apps work I could even use them on a mobile phone --but as you get older rules of A.D (Anno Domini) take over - you can't see the small text and even attempting to type on those tiny keyboards where your fingers are the size of Steam Shovels or JCB diggers compared with the tiny square you have to touch is a big no no.
im only 24 and I personally rarely use a smart phone, tho I finially broke down and got one because sadly old faithful finially was no longer in service and died on me and I couldnt fix it (my electronics skills wernt enough to keep it alive) and I must say the texting stuff is of no use to me also hehe and I have problems my self with the tiny keyboards and I honestly love to feel the keys under my fingures so I know they are there working for me...but I must say some of the windows 8 apps do have my interest in this for phones...

Windows 8 Consumer Preview 64bit
I have also got used to the Metro GUI and find that i am liking it more and more each day.
Don't get me started on Smart Phones, I hate them with a passion and the next phone I get will be only capable of making and receiving calls and have no internet connection.

That's an interesting story there. It generally goes that people don't want a phone GUI on a desktop OS. Well, if you like the Metro interface, have you checked out the Windows Phone 7? That is essentially where the Start Screen concept came from.
