    Windows Developer Preview

    How can I copy files to External Hard Drive? (MS-DOS Invalid Function)


    When I copy a file to External Hard Drive, then this error. How can I copy?
    I tried on Windows 7, everything is ok.

    It may be a bug if it works in 7 and not in 8. Does this error crop up with any file or only with this particular file? If its very file, then its a problem with the external. If it isnt, then its a problem with the particular file. Backup the data on the external, then run chkdsk on it.

    I can't copy any file to the external HDD, and I'm sure that my external HDD still work well but it just not work (copy the file to the External HDD) in Windows 8.

    I don't understand. Are you trying to install this codec pack, and why.
    This is just one example.
