    Odd booting

On a dual boot setup same drive two partitions with 7. I noticed that whenever I choose Windows 7 from the boot menu that it has to entirely reset the machine before it boots into Seven .

Anyone else having this happen? Or is this just the way that the Windows 8 boot manager starts Seven from the boot option menu? It's the 1st time I've ever witnessed a boot manager cause a machine hard reset simply to boot another partition "slightly unsettling @ 1st". But I've gone over the partitions and there appears to be no ill effects other than having to view the bios splash screen twice just to get to a 7 log in screen.

    Thoughts ?

This would appear to be normal, as I get this whenever I select a different OS. Interestingly, I have several OSes to boot from, and they all exhibit the same behaviour. The boot functionality in WDP seems to be improved compared to earlier versions of Windows. When an OS is selected, the boot manager automatically configures itself for a one-time boot into that OS, and when the system reboots it automatically begins running that OS without going to the boot menu again. It means that the other OSes get a clean boot when selected.

I agree that it is a bit strange at first, but once you get used to this behaviour, you realise it makes perfect sense (at least it does to me).
