Considering that the server CPU manufacturers have held off 128-bit I doubt that Windows 8 will support it at all. The only bigger iron that I know of that supports 128-bit pointers natively (not SIMD) is AS/400 and most of us don't have one on the house![]()
Ok lets say I need a machine to go wireless to all terminals with in one location. All treminals need video processing at DDR,,, say 3. That would be gaming on 3 complete systems, wireless that is. You would have 3 keyboards and mice. Would you then need 128bit processing????
I have to agree about it being sometime before it becomes standard, they haven't even got 64 bit accepted completely yet, there are still lots more for the manufacturers to do to make it the normal standard of machine out there, especially for the home user.
Mind you then again I haven't a clue what it all means really in terms of the inner workings just know they haven't finished 64 bit yet never mind 128![]()

You dont really need a 128bit OS look how the compatablity went with 64bit, not everything is 64bit compatable yet.
