Hi all
Just installed win 8 the other day, everything ran smooth and system using allmost no Memory only 1.7 to 3gigs used.
then i figured id try some of my games, started out with no problems.. 1 hour of world of tanks and then i switched over to BF3 after around 2hours it started to lag out every few second.. so closed it and started Diablo 3, the lag started instantly.
tried rebooting the pc, still lagging out..
noticed that even after i reboot it had started to pile data to my memory, now running at 11.5gigs used and instant lag in my games??.
Anyone had similar problems?
my specs are:
core i7 950 @3.07Ghz
Asus Sabertooth x58
12Gigs Kingston DDR3
AMD (asus) Radeon 6970 with 2Gigs GDDR5
120Gigs Intel X-m25 SSD for system and my favorite games(BF3, World of tanks atm)
2x500Gigs disk in raid 0 for storage/secondary games (Diablo 3, Eve online, various steam games)
FIX so far:
turned off superfetch from services.msc and prefetcher in the registry.
Set the value of EnablePrefetcher to 0
rebooted, lag issue is now gone.. and its back using around 1.7 to 3gigs after a reboot.. only played BF3 for around 1hour, so not sure if it holds up for longer periods game time
