Not sure if this is the right category...

Anyway, when playing some games like c&c i can't scroll to the left.
can i set my computer to automatically remove ability to 'take' other apps running in background when playing games?
it really annoys me that i can't scroll to the left.

if not possible, can i permanently remove it, cuz i really don't use that feature.
i rather use keyboard...

You mean the metro style apps that go fullscreen when used?

For c&c you need to scroll to all four sides of screen. But yeah, with metro enabled we have a problem.

The apps in background are in as suspended state (still in ram) but don't actually run when in background.

Does it work if you disable metro? It's just a temporary solution for older (non-metro) programs . After I disabled metro, I couldn't run the metro apps anymore but scrolling works to the left in older programs.

I don't know what the solution would be in the final release (maybe something in Control Panel to customize Metro look and feel).

Cheers

    That's basically it.
When I first ran the game, it was poor resolution, and couldn't set 1920 1080 (native) in settings so I edited options.ini file. When working on a resolution set in the game it works fine. It's just the problem that it won't work in 16:9...

Which c&c you use, the old c&c95? (you will need some hacks for this one to get higher resolutions but no hd Command and Conquer HiRes Patch - Game Download)

I didn't tested with that one. I know that in Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge and maybe in Tiberian Sun you can insert custom resolution in the options.ini (works also in 16:9 but the menu's when paused show the 4:3 design).

So I got RA2 working in 16:9 (1366x768 and 1360x768 => I don't have HD monitor but should work).

Good luck

Good to know it works.

Generals (and Zero Hour) seems to be buggy sometimes. You only have 4:3 resolutions ingame and it stretches to what you need 16:10 ofr 16:9
There is a good mod on Generals Zero Hour called Shockwave. (C&C: ShockWave mod for C&C Generals: Zero Hour - Mod DB) They've made the game Windows 7 compatible but I didn't tested (if there are) some extra game resolutions.

Thanks

maximum ingame rezolution is 1400x1050 on 1920x1080 screen. And that's ok. As long as it ain't something like 800x600... :)
