Dishonored installed fine but when launched the screen is pretty much unreadable. It's like it went though a paper shredder and then each strip is skewed from the next. Some double images or echo's too. There are two mouse cursors on screen etc. I'm running Nvidia 331.82. I uninstalled those and let Windows default to the stock drivers, I think they were 331.21. That didn't make any difference so I reinstalled the 331.82. Still not playable. All other games including other steam games play fine. My main monitor the 22 1080P, is connected to the HDMI port of the GT640 though a HDMI to DVI adapter. The 2 19 inch screens are on the 2 DVI connectors.

After that I installed the game on my Laptop.

I launched the game and the graphics were fine and I could navigate the setup menus. I haven't tried to actually play it yet as I would rather play it on my desktop. I did some Google searching but didn't find much. I didn't find anything on the Steam Forum either. Any help would be appreciated.

Update, it will play fine on the 19 inch 1280x1024 monitors. I did manage to set the resolution to 1920x1080 when it was running on my main monitor but it didn't help. It's almost impossible to navigate the setup menus with the screen messed up like it is. I'm going to keep playing with it, maybe I'll get lucky. At least its playable on my desktop now. My laptop was getting rather hot while playing it.

I don't know what's going on with your system as I just went into the game to see if I had any issues and I don't.

Have you checked that your drivers are up to date?

You might also check/update your DirectX files.

Lastly you can "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" by right clicking the game and clicking properties.

You can see my system specs but I'm also running Windows 8.1

Let me know.

It runs fine if I play it on one of my 19 inch 120x1024 monitors, played a couple of hours last night. If I launch it on my main 1080P screen the graphics are all jumbled up. Plays fine on my laptops 1600x900 screen also. I tried rolling back the drivers and reinstalling the latest NVidia 331.82. DirectX is installed with the game. It may have something to do with my main monitor being fed by a mini HDMI to HDMI cable connected to an HDMI to DVI adapter. Its an LG 2242T, it shows up as generic PNP Monitor and I haven't been able to find an INF file for it. This is the only game/program to do this. I'm going to look though all the settings again latter on and maybe try setting the resolution etc on the 19 in monitor where I can read it and then switch it to the main screen. Thanks for the reply I'll post back again latter on.

Fixed it. :dinesh: I dug out the CD that came with that monitor and found the driver files for it. Updated the driver and now its listed as LG E2242(Digital) instead of Generic PNP. I just launched the game and the screen is fine. Set the resolution to 1920x1080 and all is still good. I haven't got time to play right now but don't anticipate any problems when I do. :thumb:

Glad to hear it. And yeah those monitor drivers can be tricky.

Happy gaming.

I couldn't find the drivers online, not even on the LG site. I'm just glad I saved the CD. I'm a big fan of first person shooters and so far I'm liking this game. :thumb:

It really is a good game. And if you get both DLC's, it explains the game even better. It has great stealth ability and some good challenges and puzzles.

Really great game.

Peace
