Hi,

I need help in choosing the best setting for CSGO, to play with high performance without fps drop. The game's requirements are :

    • OS: Windows® 7/Vista/XP
    • Processor: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E6600 or AMD Phenom™ X3 8750 processor or better
    • Memory: 1GB XP / 2GB Vista
    • Hard Disk Space: At least 7.6GB of Space
    • Video Card: Video card must be 256 MB or more and should be a DirectX 9-compatible with support for Pixel Shader 3.0

It works on Windows 8 and I know my laptop specs is not powerful enough to run in high settings so I reduce to the lowest possible. Works fine but some stuttering of repetitive audio and frequent fps drop. I'm running in 1024x768 resolution. Need some explanation for :-

  • Multicore rendering
  • Multisampling Anti-Aliasing mode
  • Texture Filtering mode
  • FXAA Anti-Aliasing
  • Wait for Vertical Sync

Is my settings right? Need some tips for my laptop settings to run smoothly for this game.

Hi,

Multicore rendering.
It just lets you use both cores in a CPU to boost performance.

Multisampling Anti-Aliasing mode
a technique used in computer graphics to improve image quality.

Texture Filtering mode
texture filtering or texture smoothing is the method used to determine the texture color for a texture mapped pixel, using the colors of nearbytexels (pixels of the texture)

FXAA Anti-Aliasing
Smooth the edges.

Vertical Sync
Keep a track of FPS. ( I keep it off in all the games. ;) )

Upgrade the drivers for your Intel card and then check the gameplay.

Oh thank you for the info. So does my settings fit in based on my laptop's specs?
One more thing, what's the difference for Bilinear and Trilinear? What should I choose for best performance?

Resolution and other selections are fine. Lower the texture detail as well.

filtering mode:
When you're comparing these options, It's entirely within reason to ask, objectively, which one is better.
Now if you were asking - which color is better/best? THAT is entirely subjective..

still, it is like Bilinear -> Trilinear -> Anisotropic

I'm currently using Bilinear and disabled the Multicore rendering, game was running smooth so far. I have to keep the Model/Texture Detail as Medium because if it is low, the picture was kinda blurry and it's hard to see the enemy from afar. Game was running at 40-50 fps, quite okay I guess, just a slight fps drop at times but it's manageable. Well thanks for your help sir.
