Windows 8 no longer supports screen resolutions with colour depths other than "true colour" (24-bit depth or 16,777,216 colours). 8-bit and 16-bit screen resolutions are emulated in software, and the DirectDraw used in Windows 8 results in unusual behaviour or poor performance in certain older game

decided to create a different thread, so it dont get confused with directx games.
this is just like how they removed eax directsound from vista and up. and now directdraw.
and some games dont like directdraw emulation. they refuse to run on it.
this is going to keep people from windows 8.......well people that like to play legacy games.
I tried running the games in vm, but there is latency issues with sound.
what are they doing???
