Problems using Games app

I just recently got Windows 8, so I'm a rookie and forgive me for any stupid questions.

I try to use the game app, and I see they completely revamped it and you need XBox for most of the features. Fine, but my computer is using my live account, and my XBOX account is registered under a different e-mail.

Anyway, I try to log in, it tells me to accept new terms. I check the box, and it tells me to go to xbox.com to do it, because I need parental approval. Why? My XBox is an adult account.

Anyway, I click the link, log in to my XBox, accept the terms. Logged in on XBox.com. I go back to the app, and I'm still not logged in and it just repeats the process?

Help would be appreciated.

All right, update. I logged out, made a local account, put in my xbox e-mail adress in the games section, and it worked. Really? They expect everything to be connected? Is there no way I can use my xbox e-mail adress for the games section and my live account for the contacts and stuff like that?
