    Facebook Games Running Slow

    Hi All,

I have recently purchased a new HP Pavillion laptop that has Windows 8 on it. Ever since I have been using it, I have noticed that all the games I play on Facebook run extremely slow. I mainly use Google Chrome, but have tried to see if other internet browsers have the same problem and they all run slow. I've checked to make sure that java, flash player and even shockwave are all up to date.

Is anyone able to help? Its starting to get really annoying.

    Thanks

    Hello k3lz1990,

Are you having any other problems with your new laptop? If not, I would check with others that play Facebook Games to see if they are having similar problems. You might also want to check your internet download and upload speeds and compare them with your Facebook counterparts as well. You can do an internet speed test here for reference:

    Good luck.

    Hi norepli

From what I can tell its just Facebook games. Haven't tried others as yet. I've checked it against my partners laptop (as we like to verse each other on the games we play) and his runs perfectly fine. His system runs Windows 7 though and not 8.

Thanks for the link, will check that out when I get home.

Sounds like a good place to start! BTW, could you have your partner do a speed test as well and compare your results with his/her results too?

I would say that it's FB-Server-related. I had this plenty times at my place as well. To use the same i-net-connection like your partner, doesn't mean that you are connecting to the same FB-Server, as it depends on which Server your profile got created as well and other things like cookies etc.

Here are as an example some FB-IP's: Click

So, are you using the same connection as your partner? If so, I missed that part. Anyway, did your partner do a speed test as well? If so, how does his/her results compare with yours?

We are both connected to the same wireless modem. His speed test was the same as mine

I still can't find where that was made clear... anyway, so you are both going wireless; yes? If so, then it could be a Win 8 driver issue; however, assuming you are going to respond with "everything is up to date", I would do a test where you try to play the Facebook games with a direct ethernet connection to your router and let your partner continue to play wireless to see what happens.
