Plain 'ole Solitaire

I've only been using W8 about 2 weeks and wonder if someone can help me with Solitaire. I've become addicted to playing on Vista but what I miss most......someone.....please tell me how to get the 'new' Solitaire to right click or something to pull up all the cards when you win. I find it boring to click on each card individually not to mention I have arthritis in my right hand and it's difficult and definitely takes away the enjoyment of the game. Is there a solution? Otherwise, I like it.

Thanks.

Hi Ruth!

Welcome to Eightforums.

If I understand you correctly you want to know how to get the pc to finish the game of Solitaire, once it is obvious that you will win.

The answer is very easy, just make sure all the cards are on 'the table' and not 'face downwards'. Then the pc will take over and finish the game for you.

Have fun playing!

Thanks Der ~ You mean I've been too impatient all this time? It must be awfully slow but I'll try it. Hmmm......
Oh, and thanks for the welcome. One other thing...is there NO way to right click to finish then? I don't think I'll consider this solved until I try it.

I don't think I understand you clearly Ruth. When all the cards are on the table the pc will finish the game in like 2 seconds. So where would you have to right click to finish? Haven't encounterd that in my honest opinion.

And you haven't been impatient. Sometimes things change and that can be a litte confusing. Luckily there is always a place like this forum to ask for advise :)

I think you may be interested in installing some, maybe all, of the games that used to be available on Vista and perhaps Win7. I second that motion. How do we do it gang? I think I saw a thread on this issue once.

Go to the games division in the store and make a search on "Microsoft".

That way you will see all the games you were used to under 7, Vista and XP.

I read somewhere that games on 7 or Vista don't work on 8...? yes, no? Haven't tried it but will.

As for the auto complete on Solitaire Der, yes, that's what I want - you're understanding correctly. But I have not seen the computer finish automatically....I'll go win one and see

;)

Windows 7 games do work on Windows 8 using the install program I linked to in my previous post. I have been running them since Nov 1 and they work great.

I don't know if this will help but read my post on installing the Windows 7 games on Windows 8. Don't know if the Windows 7 Solitaire is what you need or not as I have never used Vista. Its has a link to an install package and you can select what games you want and it shows up in Program and Features so can be un-installed or modified.

Thanks. The thread you link probably is the one I was talking about. I am going out on a limb here because I really haven't checked things out thoroughly, but here is what I surmise in general. There are old games. They work very well, and the games play as the original games, computer or otherwise, were intended to be played. Then, someone decides they need to reinvent the wheel, and basically they foul the games up one way or another--e.g., they don't understand the essential features of the games and think that glitz and online play will substitutes for game quality. Bah Humbug!
