cannot sign into xbox live or access any games

I am a new user to windows 8.
Currently I cannot sign into xbox live nor can I access games such as wordament.( which I was using previously with no problem)
I get an error message saying
"unknown runtime error -210610844
when I went to windows store to add some free apps, I cannot complete the process.
is this the same problem?
any advice?

That's an incomplete install of Windows 8 by the looks of it... because that may also mean that apps or frameworks are missing.

A Refresh should help, but if you have any files you want to keep, back them up first.
