Problem trying to install Games for Windows Client

I keep trying to install Games for Windows Client (under Windows 8) and during the install I get a "failed install" message and an error code 0x800b0003.
I have searched various other forums and tried everything suggested (deleting browser history, deleting/uninstalling everything that Games for Windows uses and then reinstalling everything) and nothing gets past this error message.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

If you're getting errors on this, then it may be because:
A) You're trying to install other program(s) at the same time
B) Components/prequisites that GFWL needs arent installed (download all Important/Recommended updates from Windows Update)

Could be other reasons, but I suspect that the above is probably the cause. I've never had any issues installing GFWL. It is particularly sensitive when you're attempting to run another program's installer at the same time. Also, have you tried installing the .NET Framework 3.5?

Hope that helped?

Thanks Enigma but I was not trying to install something else at the same time and I have installed all of the updates released so far for Windows 8. Even installed something called Live Essentials because another thread suggested that in addition to Microsoft Silverlight and it still won't install.

I had purchased a few games back when I was running Windows XP through the Marketplace and the only way to re-install them is through the new version. And the only way to install it is using the Client installer.

hmm, Good reason.

Well, I went ahead and downloaded the client:
Download the Games for Windows Client | PC Games Client - Xbox.com

At first nothing happen but after a quick restart, it installed successfully. I was able to download the only game I have which is Tinker and install it.

I know this does not help but I can say that it is not a general Windows 8 Problem but some problem that came up in the installation.
I tried to look up the error code 0x800b0003 but numerous reasons such as windows update, WinVerifyTrust and others.

I know that others have suggest this already. Try this uninstall the client and the other components such as Live Redistributable.
Then restart and download it from the following link:

Maxknux.
thanks for trying to help, but I can't uninstall the client and the other components because none of them ever actually installed. I get this error message during a FAILED install. And, aside from MS Silverlight, there are no other components related (as far as I know) to the GFW client.
Thanks again.
