Hello whenever I try to open my minecraft it always opens a bad video card driver crash ex:

Bad video card drivers!
-----------------------
Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode.
This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers.

Graphics Driver Help for Sony VAIO VPCEE41FD AMD ATI

It seems like you need to update your Graphics Driver.
I checked Sony Site and they list a Driver only for Windows® 7 64-bit which you may use:
Sony eSupport - VPCEE41FD - Drivers & Software

and I checked AMD ATI site which provides only this legacy driver for Windows 8 (32 or 64bit:
AMD Catalyst

Only two drivers I could find for you. Try that.
ATI is poor at supporting older graphics card and my VAIO has NVIDIA.

You could also check off Advanced OPENGL in the MineCraft Window if you can.

why does everyone need to have their own thread? there are multiple minecraft threads. you would be better served if you tried to cooperate with other people seeking the same advice.

this isn't a windows support situation where you need to submit a case and get some kind of support ticket. we're normal people here trying to help people and trying to get help for our own situations. trying to add to the threads out there rather than creating new ones would help everyone out there. right now, it appears virtually no one is using the search functions. and for the people that do, they're inundated with numerous threads.

I know there have been other posts like this one I've seen them. But non of them solved my solution, there just all the ones I searched up on google and/or youtube which I tried many times. I know how you feel sometimes seeing all the same posts like these, sorry. :p

I just thought my problem was different because I thought I already had everything installed right and maybe it was a misunderstanding. :(

How do you check off Advanced OpenGL? Please explain and where to find? :)

In the Minecraft Game log in and Click options->video settings is where the options is located.

I don't think that would help because you can't even launch the game.

I check again on the AMD Catalyst 12.6 Legacy Driver for Windows 8 Webpage:
AMD Catalyst

The Driver contains:
Package contains the following graphics drivers:

  • Display Driver (WDDM 1.1)
  • OpenCL™ Driver
  • AMD Integrated Driver
  • AMD Catalyst Control Center

I Don't see a OpenGL driver in this package so you probably need to install the old one from Sony Site to have OpenGL.
