    compatibility mode with old games

    My names Sam and recently I bought a new laptop with windows 8 on it (acer aspire v3-571) and I wonted to play this game but it will not work. the game is called black and white 2. its OS says windows 2000/XP (but I haven't a clue what any of it means hence me being on this forum) I was wondering if anyone can help me try and get this game working on my new laptop

    Hey, well OS is what kind of computer software you are running. Vista, Xp, 8, 7, ect.. Some games are not compatible for other softwares such as Mountainlion (An apple software) to Windows 7 (They are rivals.)
    The only way i see around this is to try and use an emulator, or when you start up the game follow these instructions
    1)Double click on the .exe
    2) Hold ctrl+Alt+Delete and task manager opens up
    3)Go to more details and scroll down to the name of your application then right click and click properties
    4)Go to the compatibility tab and change the compatibility to something else and relaunch the application. (Trial and

    Humm, we are on Eight forum and the OP list a Windows 8 under is Avatar, I don't think he is running a MountainLion , as for specific games running in Windows 8, well sometime it'S the installer who will not work and the compatibility mode may not work on those case. If they work in XP, you have more chance, but the old one running on Windows 98 will be more problematic
